Foot & Ankle

Foot and ankle injuries can happen suddenly, as in a fall, or from wear and tear from everyday activity or even from shoe selection. When injury occurs, the foot and ankle’s ability to function is disrupted, impacting the intricate workings of bones, muscles, ligaments and other structures. Treatments for foot and ankle problems range from physical therapy to supports to surgery.

Achilles Tendon Rupture
When the tendon experiences repeated or excessive force, the result can be a tear.

Bunion
A painful bump forms on the inner side of the big toe, and can eventually lead to deformity.

Fractures of the Foot and Ankle
Bones can be broken from overuse, weakening from osteoporosis or traumatic injury.

Hammer Toe
A toe is abnormally pushed up and then curls under.

Morton’s Neuroma
The tissue around the nerve thickens, most commonly between the third and fourth toes.

Plantar Fasciitis
The ligament from the heel to the forefoot becomes inflamed from overuse or other factors.

Sprained Ankle
The ligaments stretch beyond what they can bear and the result is a sprain.
